A Simple Tuck Box You Can Hang

Before going ahead and explaining the mechanism of this hanging wonder, let us take a closer look at the tuck style. This particular style is very cost-effective and can customize in many ways. A tuck top box has simplicity in mind with easy usage to come through. There are two openings to this box located at the top and bottom. Both openings are safe by the left, and suitable dust flaps help keep the product in.

Now, moving on to the custom hang tab boxes, we notice an additional flap at the top with a hole for hanging. These boxes have a way around the standard tuck boxes by having a foldover flap that extends to the back of the box. This doubles down as a hanging tab, where the name comes from.

Figuring out the Best Design to Go on Top

There are ways to make your box stand out from the rest, and this may be the best way to go. You can print any color combination, pattern, or complex design. Printing in any direction, orientation and origin is possible with the modern offset printing technique.

From CMYK printing to unique color printing, a white cardboard box can take it all. There are some thicknesses to choose from based on the weight of your product. If printing alone on custom printed boxes does not satisfy your requirements, opt for an add-on.

What Are Add-Ons and How to Use Them Accurately

Add-ons are processes that go beyond the explanation of printing. From special effects like spot UV to additional support for products on the inside. We will try to understand some of the most combined to go with hang tab packaging.

Foiling

You are already there if you have ever seen a raised metal brush-type print. There are a few color options available when talking about foiling: gold, silver, black, rainbow, and copper.

Die-Cut Window

If you truly want your product to be present individually in an excellent package, add a cut-out to it. A die-cut window can be in any shape you want, and there aren’t any additional charges for it. If, however, you need the die-cut window covered with plastic, there might be a small charge.

Spot UV is The Best Add-On for Hang Tab Boxes

Spot UV refers to a process that is pretty much invisible to look at but is there. This process works best on a matte-looking smooth finish because it does the opposite on your specified areas. Let’s say your box design has spots and lines in them, and the idea would be to have the stripes processed with UV. This way, the spots will be matte, while the stripes will appear shiny.

Moving on from the add-ons, we have material thicknesses and options to go through quickly. With white cardboard (also called SBS), several thicknesses are available, from 280 gsm to anywhere close to 550 gsm. However, it always recommends choosing according to the product weight for the best results.

So Far, We’ve Learned

Starting at the top, we looked at the evolution of where the hang tab boxes come from. Studying the construction of tuck-type packaging, we understand that these are display types derived from them. Ideal for showcase, these window boxes can be hung on anywhere since they are made that way. A tiny hole at an additional flap looks like a back extension of the tuck-type boxes.

Furthermore, a brief intro about the design was provided, followed by an in-depth review of some add-ons and how to use them. Starting with foiling, the famous brushed metallic effect we followed with the concept of die-cut windows. Display packaging can make or cut out in any shape you require, and as long as there is no plastic covering not required, this process is free.
